We collect only what we need to run SBwiser. We never sell your data. We never store your card details. Your project content is yours. Contact us any time with questions.

1. Introduction

SBwiser is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information. We are located in Ontario, Canada and are subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario privacy laws.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: your name and email address when you register
  • Payment information: processed and stored securely by Stripe. SBwiser never stores your card details
  • Project content: all information you enter during your project phases, including your ideas, plans, and responses to AI prompts
  • Usage data: how you interact with the service, pages visited, features used, and general usage patterns
  • Communications: any messages you send us through the contact form or by email

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the SBwiser service
  • To process payments via Stripe
  • To send transactional emails such as purchase confirmations and project notifications
  • To send service-related communications about your account
  • To respond to your support and contact requests

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising purposes.

4. AI and Your Project Content

Your project content is used to power the AI-assisted conversations within your project. To generate responses, your project content may be processed by third-party AI providers. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers maintain appropriate security and confidentiality standards.

Your project content is not used to train AI models without your explicit consent.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use reputable third-party services including Stripe for payment processing and Base44 for application infrastructure. We retain your data for as long as your account is active, plus 90 days after your account is closed, unless you have purchased the Archive add-on for specific projects.

If you request deletion of your account, archived projects will also be deleted within 30 days unless you request otherwise.

In the event of a data breach that poses a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

6. Cookies and Tracking

SBwiser uses essential cookies required for the service to function, such as authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. We may use aggregated, anonymized analytics to understand how the service is used in general.

7. Sharing Your Information

We share your information only with:

  • Stripe for payment processing
  • AI service providers for generating project guidance content
  • Base44 for application infrastructure and hosting

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties, except as required by law or court order.

Cross-border Data Transfers: Your data may be processed and stored in the United States by our infrastructure provider, Base44. By using SBwiser, you consent to the transfer of your personal information to the United States, where privacy protections may differ from those in Canada. We take reasonable steps to ensure that your information receives adequate protection.

8. Your Rights - Canadian Users (PIPEDA)

As a Canadian user, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Withdraw consent for non-essential uses of your information
  • Request deletion of your account and personal data

10. Your Rights - Other US Users

We respect the privacy rights of all users regardless of location. We comply with applicable US state privacy laws including those in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Texas. If you are located in the United States (outside California), you may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. We will respond to reasonable requests within a reasonable timeframe.

11. Children's Privacy

SBwiser is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email with reasonable notice before the changes take effect. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
